Double-knit Fabrics
Double-knit fabrics have two layers knit together as one. The are heavier than a Jersey knit, which is single layer. They tend to have about 25% cross-grain stretch and little lengthwise stretch, making them stable knits that can often replace a woven fabric in sewing garments.
Three-knit Fabrics
Three yarn knitted fabrics are manufactured different from two yarn knitted fabrics with a third yarn (bracing yarn) in addition to those two yarns.
